Jasper Somsen Invites ... Peter Tiehuis & Marcel Serierse

In the jazz series of LoburgLive, double bassist Jasper Somsen receives on Thursday evening, April 9, at 8:30 PM, guitarist Peter Tiehuis and drummer Marcel Serierse.

Peter Tiehuis is widely known as a most heard guitarist in the Netherlands, in the radio and TV. He has been a fixture for years with the Metropole Orchestra, Ilse de Lange, Trijntje Oosterhuis, Chris Hinze and even played with the former national broadcaster big band The Skymasters. He shared the stage with Toots Thielemans, Benny Goodman, Freddie Hubbard, Stan Getz, Al Jarreau, Tina Turner, Chaka Khan, Mike Stern, Bob Mintzer, Jasper van 't Hof, Elvis Costello, Gino Vannelli, Randy Crawford, George Duke, Herbie Hancock and Steve Vai.

After studying with Steve Gadd and Mel Lewis, Marcel Serierse has developed into one of the most versatile and sought-after drummers in the Netherlands. Jimmy Heath, Ronnie Cuber, Randy Brecker, Bob Brookmeyer, Johnny Griffin, Michel Petrucciani and the NDR Bigband are just some of the names on his impressive resume. Marcel is a teacher at the Conservatory of Amsterdam. Jasper and Marcel were on stage together with, among others, John Beasley, Maria Mendes and in 2016 in Loburg with pianist / vocalist Sanna van Vliet.

Since 2014, Jazz In Wageningen and LoburgLive have been organizing jazz concerts on Thursday evenings in Café Loburg. Jasper Somsen invites the best Dutch jazz musicians in constantly surprising compositions.
