New order in the cosmos

Sun 14 December 2014 - 13:00 to 15:00

Philosophy Café is a monthly event not only for philosophers but for anyone who likes to share his ideas and opinion in a discussion. Every second Sunday of the month we invite a guest who will share his thoughts on several philosophical issues.

Sunday December 14th ‘Gerard Jagers op Akkerhuis’ will share his thoughts about ‘The Operator Theory’ a new evolutional theory.

The thought Robots will be more intelligent in the future than human beings : is that threatening or  just evolution. This is one of the questions that will be discussed during his lecture.

Gerard Jagers is a professional system-scientist with a passion for evolution, philosophy of science and for the implications of cultural and technological development. Unique about Jagers’ ideas is the way he organizes reality using a modern -scientific- version of the ‘scala naturae’, nature’s complexity ladder. A novel interpretation of this ladder, called the ‘Operator Hierarchy’, bridges the gap between the evolution of the physical and the biological world. Using this ladder, Jagers suggests innovative answers to long standing open questions in science and society.
